MOTOR Driven Brand Usage Guidelines

All MOTOR Database(s) are subject to grant of rights and restrictions as set forth in a Master Subscription Agreement or other license agreement with MOTOR.  This includes use in Products, services, and marketing creativesas further set forth in the MOTOR Driven™ Brand Usage Guidelines (“Guidelines”).

Follow these guidelines to ensure consistency, legibility, and accurate reproduction of the MOTOR Driven logo across all/any media.

The MOTOR Driven logo

The logo(s) must be used in any instance where an End User has access to MOTOR Database(s) . There are 2 variants to choose from dependent on the space available, as long as usage conforms to the Guidelines.  The stacked MOTOR Driven™ logo (logo 1)  is the preferred use, yet the inline logo is recommended for footers (logo 2).

Spacing

Separate the logo from other elements in the layout with a safety area. See the illustration below for the correct margin. The safety area is proportional to the size of the logo. The clear space around the logo must always be equal to, or greater than, 1/2 the x-height of the MOTOR name.

Color

Use the blue MOTOR logo whenever possible. The black and white logo is intended for instances that do not have the color space to use the color logo. The color value for MOTOR blue is:

The background color must never make the logo illegible. Never place the logo on a busy or patterned background.

Placement

The logo must be placed on a page where MOTOR Database(s) appear. Place the logo where it is visible to the End User.

For video and dynamic situations, the logo must be visible for longer than 3 seconds at a time.

Do not:

  • Place the logo where MOTOR Database(s) is/are not present.
  • Use the logo in a sentence.
  • Skew or distort the logo in any way.
  • Do not type out the word Driven or move from intended placement in the logos given

 

Size

Digital: The logo must be at least 120px wide minimum at 72ppi.

Print: The minimum height required is 0.25″(6.35 mm).

 

Approvals

MOTOR reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to approve all intended uses or displays of the Logos, including but not limited to all placement, screen shots, artwork, etc.  Approvals will not be unreasonably withheld.

 

Proper Trademark Usage Rules Include:

  • The Marks shall only be used in connection with MOTOR Database(s) and services, as granted by MOTOR.
  • The preceding notice shall be displayed in reasonable proximity to MOTOR data, viewable with MOTOR data, or displayed as an active link. MOTOR must approve all intended uses of or displays of MOTOR’s data, trademarks and logos, including but not limited to all screen shots, artwork, etc.
  • The word “MOTOR” must be displayed in all uppercase letters.
  • The appropriate use of trademark symbols with this trademark is as follows: MOTOR Driven™.
  • Use the trademark symbol in the first appearance of the trademark in a headline, and/or the first prominent use and first appearance in the body of text.
  • Never hyphenate or abbreviate the MOTOR Driven™ trademark.
  • Never incorporate the MOTOR Driven™ trademark or any part of the trademark into a third party’s company name, product brand name or model number.
  • Never translate the MOTOR Driven™ trademark or the element Driven.

The below zip file contains the MOTOR Driven™ logos in in different formats for use. Logos may be resized proportionally but not modified in any other way.

 

“A Hearst Company” Treatment Logo

Below is a zip file that includes the MOTOR Driven™logos with an addition of a treatment that reads “A Hearst Company” within the logo. All of the brand rules apply with the maximized size requirement due to the font size. 

Size minimum: 

Digital: The minimum height required is 34px at a minimum of 72ppi.

Print: The minimum height required is 0.5″.
